What a weird design

Made my first of these today and was excited to put it together for a medical friend. I found the process easy, but the push in (vice press in) front end I found weird. When twisting the pen front end to get the twist mechanism to retract or extend the pen tip, the front end either wanted to twist apart or spin freely. If I hold both front end pieces at the same time while twisting it works fine. Just overall weird and not sure I would make again.
