Product Description
Spalted Maple is rare and beautiful domestic hardwood. Our stabilizing process makes this unstable figured wood a breeze to turn. Use for bottle stoppers, small projects or cut into pen blanks. All blanks have a minimum size of 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 2-1/2".
Stabilized wood has been processed with a resin material.This process can be useful to strengthen punky areas, and it will limit expansion and shrinkage due to changes in humidity and help it resist rot. The stabilizing process does not fill voids.
Stabilized blanks can be worked on a lathe, using standard woodworking techniques and tooling with light touches.
